Athanasia Psalti was born in Athens and she completed her undergraduate and graduate studies in Archeology and Art history at the University of Athens. In 1994, she entered in the archaeological service a special contest and she placed in the Ephorate of Antiquities of Euboea. From 2007 to 2010, she was appointed as the department head of the museums in the same committee. In March of 2010, after the crisis of the service board, she placed as the Head of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Phokis, which is based in Delphi, where she serves up to today.
Her scientific interests are related to the ancient topography and the worship of Euboea, the management and enhancement of the archaeological sites and lastly, she has focused on the scientific questions of Delphi and Phokis. Moreover, she is a member of the Local Council of the monuments of Central Greece monument, of the naval museum of Galaxidi and of the Delphi municipality tourism development committee.
