Dr. Vasileios Gkrizis. Director of the Center for Security Studies (KEMEA)
He is a retired Police Lieutenant General. Since 2009 is the Director of the Center for Security Studies (KEMEA), the official think tank of the Ministry of Interior. Now, he coordinates the implementation of more than 65 projects on homeland security and anti-crime policy, including competitive and innovative technology solutions for borders management. He obtained his PhD on the “Geopolitical aspects of sea borders control and risk assessment” from the University of the Aegean. He represents Greece, the Hellenic Police and KEMEA in numerous missions in Europe, USA, China and in other countries. He is a highly-qualified expert on combating organized crime and operational planning of security policy at strategic level. His scientific papers have been published in international journals and he has delivered more than 150 lectures, presentations and speeches in Greece and abroad.
