Spyros Litsas is an Associate Professor of International Relations at the Department of International and European Studies in the University of Macedonia.
He has extensively published on War Theory, Jihadism, the Eastern Mediterranean, the Middle East, Leadership Theories & Rationalism, US & Russian Foreign policies in the Eastern Mediterranean, Turkish politics and foreign policy. In 2015 he had been selected as an Alumni Exchange Scholar from the Educational and Cultural Bureau of the US Department of State to study on the US Foreign Policy in the 21st century and in 2017 he was among a team of distinguished European academics that have been officially invited by the Ministy of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel to a study tour in Israel. He is a visiting professor at the Supreme Joint War College of the Greek Armed Forces and at the Institute of Political Science in the University of Grenoble. He obtained his Ph.D from the University of Durham, UK.
