Victor Halberstadt’s career is in academia, government and business. He is Professor of Public Economics at Leiden University since 1974, and was a.o. Chairman of the DaimlerChrysler International Advisory Board, President of the International Institute of Public Finance, Advisor to the OECD and Honorary Secretary General of Bilderberg Meetings. From 1972 to 2004, Victor served as Crown-member of the Social and Economic Council of The Netherlands as senior advisor to his own government.
He is currently member of the Faculty of the World Economic Forum, the Board of International Advisors of The Goldman Sachs Group, the International Council of Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., the Board of Overseers of Koç University (Istanbul), the Board of Trustees of the Population Council, the Governing Board of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (Singapore) and Vice-Chair, Board of Directors, International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC).
Previously, he served as a member of the Supervisory Board of a.o.
DaimlerChrysler AG, ING N.V., KPN N.V., RHJ International, TNT N.V., Het Concertgebouw N.V., PA Consulting Group Ltd. and Nationale Opera & Ballet.
He is Honorary President of the IIPF and Knight in the Order of the Dutch Lion.
