Alex is PwC’s Global Financial Services Cyber Security Lead.  He has spent his entire career working in technology, with his last 18 years focused on information and cyber security. He has had the opportunity to work with many high profile global financial services organisations and has a successful track record of helping his clients transform the way they manage cyber risk as they seek to protect their sensitive data and critical national infrastructure.  His experience includes:

  • Advising executive boards and running cyber resilience training sessions for NED communities
  • Managing a multi-year information security transformation programme for a global retail bank
  • Driving rapid cyber risk reduction for two tier 1 insurers using a “find and fix” Purple Team 
  • Defining cyber security strategies for a number of insurers, banks and an oil & gas major
  • Designing the cyber security target operating model for two of the UK’s largest banks
  • Advising on the operating model for a next generation security operations function
  • Developing a security cultural change programme for a financial market infrastructure provider
  • Assessing the impact of the new EU data protection regulation for a major custodian bank
  • Designing a cyber risk quantification model for a technology vendor entering the insurance industry

Alex has hands-on experience implementing a range of security solutions to help companies manage key threats and achieve compliance with various industry standards and regulations (e.g. NIST, ISO27001, PCI DSS, Cyber Essentials).  His domain knowledge includes:
