Asli is the Founder and CIO of Lioness Capital, a policy and political event-driven hedge fund based in New York and Washington DC. Asli has spent the last 16 years at the intersection of policy making and markets. She has a truly global work experience and a rare blend of expertise in economic and public policy and regulatory issues as well as political and macroeconomic trends in G20 markets.
Prior to Lioness Capital, Asli was the Managing Partner of US Policy Metrics, a leading political and policy research firm, advising hedge funds on how US government actions impact their investments. In that capacity she has advised leading macro and event-driven funds on policy related events in the US, focusing on legislations, regulations and agency decisions.
Before US Policy Metrics, Asli has spent almost a decade at UBS Chairman Office, based in London and New York and worked in all developed and large developing markets, with a particular focus on China, Korea, Japan, Turkey, Mexico and Brazil. In her capacity as Deputy to the Vice-Chairman of UBS, Asli has led relationships with regulators, policymakers and large corporations and top macro hedge funds, delivering her rare blend of a truly international policy and regulatory expertise to UBS clients . Asli also helped oversee UBS Washington DC Public Policy office.
Asli has an MBA degree from Harvard Business School and a BSc with honors in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University. She has held various financial licenses in the UK and the US and is a Chartered Alternative Investments Analyst. Asli is one of Young Global Leaders of World Economic Forum, Co-Chairman of Harvard Republicans, an active member of the Economic Club of New York and 100 Women in Finance. She is also a Visiting Committee Member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.
