Athanasios Polychronopoulos

Athanasios Polychronopoulos is the founder and the CEO of the Polygreen Group of Companies – a group offering internationally integrated and innovative waste management and waste-to-energy solutions enabling circular economy and tackling oil spills and marine pollution. His professional life is inextricably linked to the environment. In more than 20 years of successful career, he has managed some of the most demanding and technically challenging environmental projects around the world. 

At the same time, as an avid supporter of the arts, he founded, in 2014, to one of the most innovative environmental awareness initiatives in the world. With the establishment of PCAI, a non-profit organization that aims to raise environmental awareness through Art, Mr. Polychronopoulos aspires to launch a candid and inclusive dialogue with society regarding the environment.

Since 2015 A. Polychronopoulos is a member of SEV Business Council for Sustainable Development (SEV BCSD). He is a graduate of the Department of Business Administration and Management of the University of Piraeus and has participated in seminars at Stanford and Harvard Universities.

Mr. Polychronopoulos studied business administration at the University of Piraeus and has attended business administration and management seminars at Stanford University and Harvard.
