Dimitris Melas is Managing Director and Global Head of Equity Research at MSCI where he leads the research and product development team that supports MSCI’s equity indexes and equity risk models. Dimitris also chairs MSCI’s Index Policy Committee (IPC), the oversight committee responsible for the governance of all MSCI indexes, and MSCI’s Research Editorial Board (REB), the board responsible for editorial governance of all MSCI research publications. Prior to joining MSCI in 2006, Dimitris was Head of Research and Head of Quantitative Strategies at a large institutional asset management company.
Dimitris is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering, an MBA in Finance, and a PhD in Financial Mathematics from the London School of Economics. He currently serves as Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Portfolio Management and has published several research papers in academic and industry journals. Besides quantitative finance, Dimitris’s other passion is Caterham racing, where he uses data analytics to improve performance and win races.
