She attended Medical School of Athens University and School of Pharmacy (National University of Athens). She received Post graduate training in Detroit Michigan, Madrid Spain, and Glasgow UK. Her Ph.D. thesis is on Forensic Toxicology. In 2003 she become the Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the biggest Forensic department in Greece. She was Vice-Dean of the Medical School (2014-2016) and in 2018 she was elected Dean of School of Health Sciences at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is teaching Forensic Medicine and Toxicology in Medical School and in Cyprus Police Academy and in the Greek Police Academy. She is the author and co-author of more than 20 scientific books and 200 scientific articles in international, peer review journals. She is an active member of international committees related to her expertise.
