Julia Lendvai is Head of Unit for Greece at the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission. She carries out the function of Mission Chief since July 2020. Previously, Julia was heading the unit monitoring economic policies in Finland, Hungary and Slovenia. She is not a novice to the Greek team, as she already worked there as Deputy Head of Unit between March 2016 and March 2019. She started her professional career in the Commission in 2006, where she worked on a wide range of topics, including on the Portuguese economic adjustment programme and as a macroeconomic modeller developing the Commission’s QUEST model. Julia is a Hungarian national and holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Namur (Belgium).
