Lieutenant General (French Army, Marine Infantry, ret) Olivier TRAMOND is a graduate of the French Saint-Cyr Academy (1977-79) and holds a degree from the Ecole supérieure de guerre, the French War College. He attended the “Centre des hautes études militaires”, the center for Advanced Military Studies and the Institut des hautes études de défense nationale, the French Institute for Higher National Defense Studies. He also holds a degree from the Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies (USA). LTG (ret) Olivier TRAMOND has held several operational positions in Marine Paratrooper Units since 1980 and commanded field operations in Africa, the Middle East and the Balkans, as well as in French overseas forces, (West Indies, Indian Ocean and South Pacific). He commanded the 3rd Airborne Marines Regiment (3° RPIMa) and was General Officer, the high commander of the French joint forces in the South Pacific (New-Caledonia). 

He worked for the French Government in Paris, in particular for the French Prime minister service - Secretariat-General for National Defense and Security (intelligence and anti-terrorist plans), Cabinet of Minister of Defense (advisor for military operations) and Army Staff (head of the long-term planning office). He managed the French Army Center for Strategy and Doctrine and performed special missions for the French MoD Inspection group. In 2015, LTG Olivier TRAMOND retired and joined SAFRAN Electronics & Defense, a French major company specializing in optronics, avionics and electronic systems, as well as software for civil and military applications in the land, naval, aeronautical and space sectors. He was the COO’s military advisor until 2018. 

Since 2018, LTG Olivier TRAMOND is Co Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors as well as in charge of the Strategic Affairs for “The First Alliance”, a US foundation with the mission is to honor and enhance the French American strategic and military alliance. He teaches strategy at the CEDS (center for diplomatic and strategic studies - Group INSEEC U) and he is an associated searcher at the HEC geopolitics center. LTG (ret) Olivier TRAMOND is Commander of the Legion of Honor, Commander of the National Order of Merit, he holds the Cross for Military Valor with three stars and the Combatant’s Cross as well as several foreign awards.
