Solomon Berahas
CEO & Managing Director, Tiresias S.A., Greece

Solomon Berahas is the Managing Director and member of the Board of Directors of Tiresias SA, the Greek Credit Bureau. Solomon also serves in the Board of Directors of Piraeus Bank as an independent non-executive member. In the past he has served in the boards of Geniki Bank and Deloitte Greece. Between 2002 and 2012 Solomon worked for Eurobank in Greece as Chief Risk Officer of the Retail Bank. Solomon started his banking career in 1983 with Citibank in New York, USA. During his 20-year tenure in Citi he held several Credit and Risk Management domestic and international positions and he became a Senior Credit Officer. He was the CEO of the Greek credit cards business and the Risk Director of the Retail Bank in Greece. Solomon has extensive teaching, research and consulting experience in the EU, UK, US and Israel.

He serves in the Board of Directors of ELEPAP – Organization for the Rehabilitation for the Disabled, he is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation, and member of the Board of Directors of the Association of SA & Limited Liability Companies. He holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering, a M.Sc. in Information Systems and a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. He has also completed the Advanced Professional Certificate in Business Administration from New York University Stern School of Business and the Certificate in Corporate Governance from the INSEAD.
