Vlad Spencer is Program Manager with World Learning’s Global Networks unit, based in Washington DC, handling global international development and public diplomacy exchange programs, with a focus on the impact of digital technologies in reshaping the new information space. A native o Romania, Mr. Spencer worked as a journalist and editor at the international broadcaster Voice of America and freelanced for Radio Free Europe, Radio France International and the BBC. Mr. Spencer was also TV producer at Media International, a Canadian private company, specializing in health-care related streaming. His career in journalism and public diplomacy took Vlad Spencer to more than 70 countries on all continents, covering a variety of international relations subjects. Mr. Spencer conducted media training sessions in Eastern and Central Europe and wrote extensively about the region’s transition from communism to democracy and free market economy. His current interest is building effective international networks and coalitions of professionals, to address major global challenges such as the reconfiguration of the information space, social justice, climate change, and protecting liberal democracy.
