In Greece in January 2023, the Greek government and the OECD established in Crete the thematic Center of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development on assessing global demographic changes and assisting governments in developing efficient policy responses to the challenges they pose.
The OECD Center in Crete in cooperation with the Delphi Economic Forum and the Municipality of Chania organized the 1st Conference on Population Dynamics, on November 4, 2024, in Chania. The conference brought together international experts, policymakers, and academics to discuss critical issues related to population dynamics, including demographic changes, aging populations, and the role of migration in economic prosperity.
Our purpose and vision was to make the conference the largest worldwide on the causes, consequences and solutions around the demographic issue.
